A TOTAL CERTAINTY & DETERMINATION STORY: WHAT IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN FINDING A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK?

A piece of jewelry; a ring, that got lost out in the water at a beach on the ocean floor in sand — I would think. I was proved wrong by an amazing group of people involved in a very cool club in Florida and beyond.

IF YOU HAVE LOST JEWELRY AT THE BEACH DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE.

My dear friend Nicholas and I had made an almost nightly ritual around the summer solstice through the isolation of covid summer, of making it over to Barefoot Beach in SW Fl, the Gulfshore area — to watch the sun go down and get a good walk and swim in.

One evening as we were out in the water and the sun was well past having set — I made a motion with my right hand and a sentimental ring I cherished; flew right off my finger in an arc landing anywhere from 5 to 10 feet away. The distance was a guestimate as it was honestly hard to tell. I frantically put my goggles on and as the swimmer I am I ensued in frantically combing the bottom of the sandy ocean floor, that I thought it would be in.

It eventually got completely dark and I was doing this blind. Then Nicholas put the flashlight on his iphone despite it not having a protective cover nor being waterproof — and he told me to use it to keep looking. I did not want to risk his phone so he was adamant about it before I would do that……..
